ENRRICH Summer Studentship Launch

One of ENRRICH’s priorities is to support trainees to conduct research in the field of pediatric neurodevelopment and rehabilitation. Today, ENRRICH is launching the ENRRICH Summer Studentship. The purpose of the ENRRICH Summer Studentship is to recognize and prioritize the valuable skills and knowledge that comes from life experience. It has been developed to support principles of inclusion, diversity, equity, accessibility, and justice, and to enhance participation of groups who have been historically and systematically marginalized and excluded from studentship participation at the University of Manitoba. Two studentships will be available per competition, and selections will be made by a two-round lottery system.

Applicants must be enrolled in, or recently graduated from a post-secondary institution in Winnipeg. There are no GPA requirements for this studentship. The applicant must submit an essay (350 words) outlining their career goals and relevant skills obtained through their life, work, volunteer, or academic experiences, and explain what opportunities this studentship would provide to them that they would otherwise not be able to access. They must also meet with their potential supervisor to discuss their goals of their summer research experience.

Selections will be made by a two-round lottery system. The first round is designated for individuals who are members of Black, Indigenous, and/or racialized groups. This includes Black, Indigenous, and racialized persons with disabilities, and/or of sexual and/or gender diverse identities. All eligible applicants will be included in the second round. All applications will be thoroughly reviewed prior to entry into the lottery system, for completion and alignment with the intent of the studentship.

The ENRRICH Studentship application can be found here.

Application deadline is March 10, 2023. Awards will be announced on March 15, 2023.
